ACityDiscount is pleased to announce that as of January 1 2012, we have become a member of the National Association of Food Equipment Dealers cooperative buying group.
The National Association of Food Equipment Dealers (NAFED) was founded in 1959 and officially incorporated in South Carolina on September 19, 1981, by eleven foodservice equipment dealers. As of today, many of those dealers continue to act as an intracle part of this elite organization. Before they became an incorporated buying group, these dealers combined their purchase orders for additional discounts from a wide range of manufacturers.
In order pass the benefits of joining NAFED on to our customers, we plan to expand the lines that we are currently offering. Included in those new lines are Blodgett, Cambro, Cleveland Range, Delfield, Frymaster, Dean, Garland, U.S. Range, Manitowoc Ice Machines, Pitco, Magikitch’n, Vollrath and Vulcan. These are only a few of the over 100 manufacturing lines being added to our online store.
Since incorporation in 1981, NAFED has operated under the same name and "member run" organizational structure. As a member owned and operated organization, NAFED deals only with industry leading manufacturers, and have top quality dealers throughout the United States. Their mission is to improve the working relationship between the foodservice equipment dealers and manufacturers. They accomplish this in part by hosting educational workshops and conferences in which dealers are invited to meet with the manufacturers over the course of a few days to build a closer relationship between all member vendors and dealers. Dealers bring new and experienced staff to the workshop to learn about new items, features and benefits of industry staples. Everyone learns at the NAFED workshop and therefore becomes a greater, more productive asset to the organization.
