The Foundry at Puritan Mill hosted the inaugural Atlanta Chef’s Expo, a culinary event showcasing local restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and private chefs. The sold out affair gave participants the opportunity to taste specialty dishes from each vendor with a portion of ticket sales benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Some of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants as well as chefs and caterers from around the southeast region served up tastes of their specialties to a crowd of nearly 700 guests at the Atlanta Chef Expo. Each entrant was judged by Savory Exposure’s Broderick Smylie along with Tom Sullivan and Holly Firer to award the “Most Creative” and by the guests to select the “Fan Favorite” in each category. Vendors with the most votes in each category were named “Fan Favorite” adding an element of friendly competition to the expo.
With tons of tasty competition from Creole pretzels to apple pizza, Aqua Blue Restaurant and Bar made a sweep of the culinary clash, winning Fan Favorite, Best Caterer and Most Creative Restaurant.
Along with chef’s tables and exhibition booths, there was also a full service bar, cooking demonstration stage and music. Being Mardi Gras weekend, a Carnival theme seemed to be floating throughout the expo. Not surprisingly, many Louisiana dishes were represented.
ACityDiscount was proud to have sponsored the Atlanta Chefs Expo on February 19, 2012. By loaning the expo organizers the equipment to display, ACityDiscount provided the backdrop for the center stage.
