Many employees at Atlanta’s NBC affiliate, WXIA 11Alive, have been shopping with ACityDiscount for several years. After being featured on Valerie Hoff’s “Ways To Save” several times, we have built relationships with a number of members of the 11Alive news team, including anchorperson Karyn Greer.
Random Acts of Kindness
Recently, Karyn came in to take advantage of one of our “Ways To Save” Mother’s Day promotions, and approached ACityDiscount Vice President Marty Stack about contributing to her segment, Random Acts of Kindness”. Every weekday, Karyn and the 11Alive team award a random viewer with a surprise gift. Viewers submit deserving candidates that go above and beyond for others, and one candidate is chosen at random each day to receive a special gift from a sponsor.
The gifts awarded on “Random Acts…” vary in size and value, ranging from gas gift cards to larger items. Karyn had the idea to do a special Father’s Day segment, and thought some of the barbecue and grilling accessories that ACityDiscount had on hand were perfect to make any Dad’s day.
Karyn & ACD Choose a Primo Grills’ Oval XL
After Karyn invited ACityDiscount to be a part of this special Father’s Day segment, Marty reached out to Primo Grills; an Atlanta-area manufacturer of high quality ceramic smoker grills. As an owner of a Primo Grill, Marty knew that a Primo Oval XL with an accessory package, valued at just under $1900, would be the perfect surprise for any deserving Dad.
Marty and the ACD team reached out to Primo Grills to ensure there would be no problems securing an Oval XL, complete with accessories, for the giveaway. Primo was elated to be involved in such a giveaway, especially one appearing on television in their hometown, so they expedited the production of an Oval XL specifically for the giveaway.
Sid Haggard Receives His Surprise
Early in the morning on June 11th, representatives from Primo, 11Alive, and ACityDiscount gathered in Covington, GA to award the Primo Grill package to 11Alive viewer and deserving father Sid Haggard. Sid is the youngest of five children, and spends most of his time caring for his wife and older sisters.
Sid’s daughter, Paula, submitted his name to 11Alive a number of weeks ago. She insisted that her father spends most of his time helping his sisters and wife, and was absolutely elated when the ACD delivery truck arrived.
