We love it! Every time we need something we go there.
Samantha CallahanThe Pink Pig
In 1967, Bud Holloway had a vision to start a full service restaurant in Cherry Log, Georgia. The building he selected, now known as a popular barbecue eatery, Pink Pig, is located in Gilmer County and was originally built in 1950 to serve as a country store and gristmill. Holloway’s Pink Pig has since seen much success – even being featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 2002. In 2008, granddaughter Samantha Callahan, and husband Jacob Callahan, took ownership of the charming restaurant nestled in the North Georgia Mountains.
Today, the eatery is known for more than its fall off the bone barbecue – the owners say “it ain’t all just barbecue!” Step into the family owned operation and be introduced to food choices like fried chicken, fried chicken livers, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, steaks, and other delicious dishes not normally served at your typical BBQ restaurant.
Customers express that the most appreciated quality of Pink Pig’s is that the menu items are made from scratch; from Brunswick stew, dry rubs, and homemade desserts like banana pudding. The Callahan’s get all of the meats locally. The freshly made ice tea was once called “the best tea in the world” by former Georgia governor Zell Miller.
Samantha and Jacob accredit their loyalty to ACityDiscount with the price and the service. The family began shopping at the store years ago when ACityDiscount was located in South Atlanta. The relationship began with a $300 piece of equipment the couple found on eBay, and won it for $20.
The Pink Pig's relationship with ACityDiscount has grown and now the couple shops at the retailer for all equipment and supplies, as well as recommending the company to others.
