Industry leader in ice machines launches Indigo NXT
The Manitowoc Indigo series is poised to revolutionize the foodservice industry's vision of the perfect ice machine - one ice cube at a time.
To do this, Manitowoc, America's No. 1 manufacturer of ice machines, has invested more than two years and millions of dollars of research and development in its next-generation product line, rightly named Indigo NXT.
Set to arrive at ACityDiscount in late January, the 2018 models promise to surpass Department of Energy standards for energy efficiency (Energy Star), while setting another bar of industry excellence with features that include a touch screen display.
For Manitowoc's loyal customer base, the Manitowoc Indigo series equates to lower energy and water costs, improved controls and refrigeration, and a decreased chance of contamination - all without a price increase. And it uses environmentally-friendly R-410a refrigerant.
Manitowoc's forward-thinking project will upgrade approximately 75 percent of its current product line.
The ice machines of Manitowoc, based in central Wisconsin, are celebrated for their dice cubes, half-dice cubes, nugget ice and flake ice nationwide at restaurants, catering facilities, gas stations, hospitals - anywhere the public has a need for large-scale ice.

Highlights of the Manitowoc Indigo NXT
Simplicity: Improved labeling; Door hinge and grip enhancements. Improved display panel; easy-read display offers operating status, cleaning reminders and diagnostic information through a touch-screen display.
Sanitation: The option of an ergonomic sanitary scoop (NSF approved), which will keep thumbs and knuckles from touching the ice. Also, an internal scoop holder will keep the handle above the ice free from contamination. An external holder is an optional feature to keep it covered.
Energy Efficiency: Up to a 19 percent improvement in energy usage; 10 percent reduction in potable water usage; 23 percent reduction in condenser water usage.
