In 1947, in a quaint garage located at a creamery in Hudson, Wisc., Nor-Lake Refrigeration produced their first line of products, many of which are available still today.
Now a very reputable restaurant equipment brand, Nor-Lake's initial focus was on refrigeration products for bars and restaurants. Though the company originally made ice cube makers that were very popular at a variety of establishments, they have expanded their catalog into full lines of commercial foodservice and scientific refrigeration.
After starting their scientific division in 1982, Nor-Lake began to focus on refrigeration design and innovation. The company has hit a number of milestones throughout the years, including being the first U.S. commercial refrigeration company to introduce an HCFC blowing Ozone Guard-22 polyurethane insulation in 1989. They were also one the first companies to receive ISO 9001 certification in the commercial refrigeration industry in 1994, and in 1997 began using CFC-free foam in their insulation.
