2013 Year In Review

Year In Review

With the New Year brings new challenges, opportunities and the chance to further our positive business relationships. Looking back at 2013, we are taking some time to reflect on all that has come to pass. 2013 was a very productive year for ACityDiscount.

2013 brought the celebration of ACityDiscount’s 40th year in business. Started by Bill Stack in 1973 as a hobby, that hobby rapidly expanded to a west end location, supplying brands like KFC with equipment. Today, ACityDiscount has expanded to a massive storefront and warehouse in Norcross, GA, supplying equipment nationwide.

Earlier in the year, we made the trip to Orlando to attend the 2013 Nafem Show. We believe in keeping all of our employees abreast of new equipment, procedures and industry trends. Thirteen of our employees were sent to the show this year. From the Marketing, Order Fulfillment, Accounting, Purchasing and Sales departments, all gained knowledge that will help us assist our customers to the best of our ability.

In March, ACityDiscount was featured on the hit Spike TV show “Bar Rescue”. Operated by Jon Taffer, the show features restaurants that are in a state of decline and in need of renovation. Working with Spike TV and a local restaurant, ACityDiscount provided equipment and installation services of new equipment. Spike TV was generous enough to invite several staff members from ACityDiscount for the “before” and “after” nights and a few of us even had some air time !

As the fall months crept in, ACityDiscount paired with Amazon Payments to provide yet another way to make the shopping experience faster, easier and more secure. Online and mobile customers now have the ability to pay with their Amazon account and have the piece of mind that comes with shopping with Amazon.

In October, ACityDiscount was given the opportunity to become the equipment sponsor of the Atlanta Foodservice Expo. We offered up several pieces of equipment for use in the events’ culinary competitions. We were also given the opportunity to have a 10x20 booth, which was filled with samples of the large selection of items we offer, as well as some smiling faces to answer questions and generate quotes.

ACityDiscount worked with Valerie Hoff, Karyn Greer and the Ways-2-Save Team again to feature items on a segment of the local 11 Alive news station, providing a selection of items for sale at remarkable discounts close to the holiday. We hope that this will become a tradition between ACityDiscount and the Ways 2 Save team.

Overall we’ve expanded our inventory, our showroom and our personnel. We added to our ever-growing customer base. We’ve taken on new Manufacturers and added to our line list. We have worked diligently to get the best discounts from our suppliers so we can provide the best possible price to our end user. We’ve even started a new promotion system so our customers can get the best discounts available on the equipment they need to keep their business running. We thank all those who made this year's journey possible and look forward to what the future holds.
